Reviews

Nice helmet!

"The large fit me well even though I'm a 7 1/4. Heated visor works as it should. The magnet neck bib works really well, just awkward in flip up mode. The magnet neck strap is nice, but not intuitive. Visor catches a lot of wind but it is removable. It's nice and light and looks good! I'll be sticking with 509"

Beautiful

"I received my helmet at the end of the season so I did not get to use it yet. But I’ve used the same model before and it is a great helmet."

Ryan B. (5/5)

Great Helmets

"Worked very good in both the -20 and 40 degree weather riding snowmobile. Occasionally would have to fight the lens fogging up but paired with the DK remote lens heater pack this was a great helmet for any of our riding."

helmet review R4

"very nice helmet, light and comfortable. Downsides. . . . hate the helmet clasp/strap. . . . pain in the ass. Also, not the warmest helmet. . . lots of leaks around faceshield, cool, but not air tight. Also, the chin curtain thing. . . . i can't figure it out at all so it's not on"

"Great warranty service. Would buy another 509 product just due to their service."

Game Changer

"I am 71 yrs old and love to ride. A moderate rider. I was having trouble with vision. My eyes would tear up, goggles fog and couldn't wear glasses. Now, I am able to wear glasses, I see clearly and eyes don't water. I love the buckle, easy to maneuver. The vents are easy to open and close, even while riding and I like how the face shield lifts. My son attached to snowmobile easily. This was definitely worth the money for me. No regrets"

Penny M. (5/5)

"This is a great snowmobiling helmet and very comfortable. They product is well put together and you have other accessories with it plus a longer chin sheild . i recommend this product for anyone who snowmobiles or does and other winter activities that you need a heat shild and protection."

JOKER (5/5)

Horrible for snowmobiling!

"This helmet was a waste of money. There is no gasket to stop your breath from going right up to the shield. If you stop moving it fogs up from your breath. Do not buy this!!"

Q&A

I do not have a plug in to my sled for the heated shield. Will it fog if it is not plugged in or is there an external battery pack that will work with it?
Hey Trevor! The cord comes with pigtails so you can connect it directly to a sled battery without the RCA connector. Depending on conditions, the dual lens shield construction may be enough to prevent fog but it depends on all kinds of factors. We offer a dual lens shield (non-Ignite) for the R4 as well (sold separately). Many external 12V batteries will work also, but you will need to find a correct adapter.
What is the fuse for the helmet cable? It doesn't say and I can't find a standard that says this purple color is xamp.
Hey Tim, it's a 3 amp fuse and there should be a little '3' on the top.
What cardo fits the best in this helmet I've tried a few cheaper brands but the speakers are all too big and I don't want to modify the helmet at all
Hey Steve, all Cardo speakers - both 32MM and 40MM will fit in the recessed speaker spots of the helmet.
Is there a battery pack available for the R4 ignite modular helmet ?
Hey Sheldon, unfortunately there is no battery pack available at this time, but please keep an eye out for Fall 2024 as we do have something in the works!
I have Delta R4 Ignite Helmet but I'm having problems with cord staying in the helmet do have any solutions for that?
Hey Gary! There is a 1/4 turn 'lock' built into the connection point. Check and make sure you have that installed correctly, and that it is locked. If you're still having issues, please call us at (877) 743-3509 and we'll help walk you through it. Thank you!
